Crash and Coco are now in mobile

The popular PS1 game is now available on Android. The Crash Bandicoot for mobile brings back your favorite Crash & Coco characters with a new Crash adventure. In this version, Dr. Neo Cortex has dispatched mutagen henchmen across the multiverse to enslave all dimensions. Crash—with the help of his sister Coco—must bash these minions back to the dimension where they came from He must complete battle runs through the iconic tracks of Wumpa Island, and create an arsenal of weapons to defeat enemies.

Run, slide, and spin

The Crash Bandicoot comes with game mechanics similar to popular endless running games, such as Minion Rush and Temple Run. You need to control Crash as he runs through the tracks around the island. By swiping the screen up and down, you can make Crash jump and slide to avoid the obstacles. More, you can also make him change lanes to get the fruits and other boosters by swiping left and right. You can also tap the screen to make Crash perform his spin attack to defeat enemies.

The game will have you play in Turtle Woods, Lost City, and Temple Ruins—three locales from the previous Crash Bandicoot games. Each level will have hidden paths for you to find and take advantage of. There will also be base-building in the game wherein you will collect items that you can use to expand Coco Bandicoot’s base. Over time, you can unlock key buildings to create weapons, including serums, bombs, and even rayguns.

This version plays like the original CB games, but more simplified. However, unlike the PS1 game, the mobile game is prone to glitches. There are cases where you fall indefinitely with no death when you fall while running. More so, there are times where Crash does not respond no matter how much you swipe left or tap your screen to unleash the spin attack. The graphics also need more improvement as it causes delay to players’ input.

A fun casual game that needs improvement

As with other running games, Crash Bandicoot for mobile offers simple and addicting gameplay. The game is very easy to understand, so you can get started with your running battles right away. However, while it can be a great past time, the hard controls may prove to be annoying. More, there are lots of bugs in the game that can be a deal-breaker for players looking for a casual game to try.
